Trading the Boardroom for a Hard Hat

Gina Centoni's career transformation is a remarkable journey from Silicon Valley executive to President and CEO of Centoni Restoration & Development. Initially working in the tech industry with companies like Apple and Sun Microsystems, Centoni shifted gears after a fire destroyed her historic San Francisco home. Inspired by her passion for construction and renovation, she decided to pursue a new path in the construction industry, focusing on historical restorations. Her firm, Centoni Restoration & Development, specializes in preserving and enhancing the architectural integrity of historical buildings in San Francisco.

Centoni's transition into a male-dominated industry was driven by her lifelong interest in construction, fostered by early experiences building with her father. Her dedication to historical restoration and meticulous attention to detail have earned her firm a solid reputation. Centoni's team approaches each project with a collaborative mindset, integrating design and build processes to ensure efficiency and high-quality outcomes. This approach has allowed her to successfully navigate the challenges of the industry, maintaining a strong presence and delivering exceptional results on various projects. Gina also serves on the Code Advisory Committee for the San Francisco Building Department.

As a woman leading a construction firm, Centoni faces unique challenges but remains committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment. While her team predominantly consists of men in the field, she actively seeks to hire skilled female professionals. Centoni's story is not only about career reinvention but also about breaking barriers and setting an example for women in construction. Her dedication to quality, innovation, and client satisfaction continues to drive the success of Centoni Restoration & Development.
